RedactID is built with privacy as the foundation. Unlike other services, we never see, store, or have access to your documents.

How It Works

All image processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas. When you upload an image:

The image stays on your device
Processing happens in your browser's memory
Redaction is applied locally
You download the result directly from your browser

At no point does your image leave your device.

Data We Collect

What We Do NOT Collect:

Your images
Content of your documents
Personal information from your IDs
Any sensitive data

What We DO Collect:

Usage counts: We store your IP address + current date to enforce the 1 free redaction per day limit. This data expires after 48 hours.
Payment information: If you purchase a pack, payment is processed by Stripe. We only store your purchase entitlement (e.g., "50 redactions remaining"). No credit card data is stored by us.
Anonymous analytics: We may use privacy-preserving analytics to understand how people use the service (e.g., "X people uploaded a document today"). These contain no personal information.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies only for:

Remembering your purchased redaction pack balance
Essential functionality

No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Stripe: For payment processing. They handle all payment data securely. See their privacy policy.
Vercel: For hosting. See their privacy policy.
Upstash Redis: For rate limiting storage. See their privacy policy.

Request deletion of your usage data
Request a copy of data we store about you
Opt out of any analytics

We are committed to GDPR compliance. Since we don't store your images or personal data, we collect minimal information. Your usage data is automatically deleted after 48 hours.
